Rock at the Black Lion
A
Tune entered Marcus Andrews' head back in 1983 and has stayed
there ever since. In fact, it's playing a big part in his
future as an Elton John impersonator."
That
tune, "I Guess That's Why They Call It The Blues"
is one of his heros classics, and Marcus, of Redhill in
Hereford, offers his own take on a five-track CD he recorded
recently.
The
Disc already gets more plays than Eltons original on the
juke-box at Marcus's local The Black Lion, Bridge Street,
Hereford, where it all began.
There,
Marcus is well known for striking up the singers hits when
everyone is in "Party Mood".
Impressed
by what they heard one night, a "mentor" saw potential
and set up the studio session.
Word
of mouth makes Marcus popular at present, especially after
a well received new years eve gig across the road at The
Left Bank.
But he is aiming at the stars;Stars In Their Eyes, the popular
TV impersonation show.
Then
there's a charity gala evening alongside Jim Davidson.
Yet even if bigger stages come on, Marcus will always come
back to the Black Lion, and "fame" won't change
that. |
